Grape Variety: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Alcohol: 13.5% Vol
Vinification: The grapes are handpicked in the highest vineyards, put in little baskets and moved to the winery. They are then carefully selected by hand and destemmed. Once selected, the grapes are not crushed, but they are moved by gravity in steel vats. Here fermentation begins and lasts for 11-14 days at 24℃. After that, the malolactic fermentation occurs directly in barriques, where the wine is aged for 18 months.
Colour: Intense ruby red, with violet highlights
Bouquet: Complex aroma, with red fruits and balsamic hints and chocolate and spicy scents.
Taste: Well-structured, full-bodied and rich of tannins, the wine is well-balanced dues to the long ageing in barriques. The wine is ready to drink at its release but its structure allows it to be aged in bottle for long time.
